It’s Tipsy Tuesdays at Daddy O’Brien’s Irish Ice Cream Pub

What better way to spend Tuesdays than getting 50% discounts on beer and wine at Daddy O’Brien’s authentic Irish Pub—home of the award-winning alcohol flavored ice cream.

Run by couple Frank and Lori O’Brien, the pub is designed as a place where families hang out and chill. The environment is upscale considering the furniture and fixtures but it retains the intimate atmosphere of a mom-and-pop store where everyone knows everybody.

Since opening in January 2017, Daddy O’—as Frank is affectionately called—has hosted corporate events, meetings, school spirit nights, reunions, wedding rehearsals, birthday parties and celebratory lunch and dinners.

Animal-Friendly Patio

They also designed their patio to be pet-friendly. Each of the four-legged friends gets a free scoop of puppy cream, invented by the couple as a dog treat, particularly on humid days.

The establishment is quickly growing to be a neighborhood landmark as its famous concoctions of cold treats are drawing in visitors from all over the country. Tourists will find themselves sitting side-by-side with local customers.

Musical Events

On certain days, the pub hosts musical entertainment as part of the efforts of the couple to support local artists by giving them the platform to showcase their talents. For instance, the Irish band Keltic Kudzu performs on March 18 as they share traditional Celtic music. On March 17, Don Law entertains the crowd as part of the establishment’s 2nd Annual St. Patty’s Day Celebration.

Of course, visitors and loyal customers come for the ice cream and beers, in no particular order.

Few of the Pub’s Awards

The house blend of Butter Bear has been awarded the 2016 Flavor of the Year before the pub even opened. The homemade Kentucky Salted Caramel was awarded the NICRA Iron Scoop Champion in 2014. Meanwhile, the Baileys Irish Pistachio got the bronze in 2015 food competition.

With just a year into the operations, Daddy O’Brien’s Irish Ice Cream Pub already received the recognition of being the “Best of Gwinnett 2017” as voted by Gwinnett Magazine.

Catering Services

Daddy O’Brien also offers catering service for corporate events, weddings, sporting events, festivals, conferences, birthday parties, Bar Mitzvahs, open houses, trade shows, private parties, and holidays.

In their aim to give personal service, sometimes Frank and Lori will wheel the cart themselves, and serve the ice cream. Customers can get a choice of a sundae bar or the adult ice cream (alcohol-infused cold, sugary treats that can also be served in martini glasses, which will cost extra). They can also choose a many as six flavors.

The minimum number for catering is 70 pax at $6.00 per piece in addition to the staff fee. The cost is reduced to just $5.00 per piece in a party of 200 people. The staff fee costs $100 per 100 people.

See what the fuss is all about. Daddy O’Brien Irish Pub can be found at Suwanee Dam Road in Sugar Hill, Gwinnett County, GA. They are open from Tuesday to Sunday from 12 noon to 9 p.m. on weekdays and 12 noon to 10 p.m. on weekends. The pub is also looking for franchising
