I write this on an Apple computer next to my Apple iphone, so I know how much of a hypocrite I am, and I’m ok with it. I just hate Apple in general. They are like the kid in school that you grew up with who was good looking, good at every sport, always had lots of options for girlfriends and just did everything right, while I couldn’t figure out how to walk down the hall without looking stupid. Apple just can’t seem to do things the way that the rest of the world does it. It would be like me developing a car that drives on the left side of the road in the U.S. The funny thing is that every time Apple tells everyone on the planet that they are doing things opposite of how they [...]
So this past weekend, I had the pleasure of visiting the Department of Motor Vehicles to get a new driver’s license. Oh man, it had been a while and how you can forget the amazing experience that only the DMV can provide…..I’m sure glad I had the opportunity to get that loving feeling back. So let me set the stage for you, It’s Saturday morning, it’s beautiful, you wake up early so you can get to the DMV before the crowds arrive. You have a fun Saturday planned out after you get your license renewal done. At the door, a heavy set lady greets you, she has dead eyes, no emotions and a life full of abuse and ridicule that has made her one of the meanest, toughest women on the [...]
I’m not sure where they came from or what group of braniacs got together and invented Aldi, but if you haven’t been blessed with the Aldi experience yet, it’s time to either get on a plane and fly to the nearest city you can find an Aldi (https://www.aldi.us) or have someone in an Aldi City go shop for you and video tape the experience on their phone. I am going to sum it up in one sentence, Aldi saves you an insane amount of money on groceries. Ok, ok, so the place feels a lot like a Mexican market in Cancun minus the guy who you can pay to take pictures with his parrot and monkey who are clearly living in an abused state. And yes, you have to put a quarter into the shopping cart [...]
I travel quite a bit and the time spent in airports, rental cars and cheap hotel rooms is adding up. With that, I’ve realized that I’ve become a bit of a travel snob. I just get angry when things don’t go the way they are supposed to and whatever patience I used to have is gone for people that just don’t get it when you are trying to get somewhere, check into your room, get your car or whatever. My most recent experience where I nearly had a nuclear melt down traveling was with Hotels.com. I must say that I thoroughly enjoy their commercials, the captain obvious guy is well done and usually gets an “inside chuckle” from me in most cases. I also admit, I’m not the [...]
